Vaio is back and its laptops are heading to Asia

It's been four years since Sony dropped its Vaio brand, but now it's back and ready to head out of Japan.

Vaio fans in Asia rejoice! The Japanese laptops from Vaio Corporation are back without Sony and they are still looking as good as ever.

Making their debut at Computex 2018, the stylish Vaio S11 and S13 notebooks will head to markets in Asia next month, following an agreement with Hong Kong-based distributor, Nexstgo, who have plans to sell the two laptops in Hong Kong and Taiwan in July, before the company makes its way to Singapore and Malaysia in August.

The Vaio S11 and S13 are lightweight laptops powered by Intel's eighth-generation Core i5 or i7 processors, with the S11 sporting a 11.6-inch full HD IPS display, while the S13, as its name suggests, will have a 13.3-inch full HD IPS screen (1,920x1,080 pixels). When opening the laptop, the top lid raises the laptop up for a more comfortable typing experience, a feature I quite liked.

Facts:  Vaio S11 (2018) and VCP11 (2013) model are both 1.9lbs,  Sony has sold off the computer brand "Vaio"  to Vaio corporation.  The lightest Apple Macbook (2016) is 2.03 lbs. Sony has long manufactured many lightweight strongly equipped laptops since 2001. 

Analysis: Sony Vaio is a great brand with strong technical support for their personal computers. Selling Vaio brand to Vaio corporation back in 2016 was a good move due to the heavy manufacturing and design costs associated with laptops. The low  profit margin is hard to intake on P.C.'s. Sony Vaio also has exceptional phone and in-store technical support almost equivalent to AppleCare. 

Conclusion: Buy a Sony Vaio S11, 1.9lbs is good for your back.
